Tip of the Day, August 2

01 August

August 2 – Luke 16:19-31; “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

The question you should ask your Mormon friend is who is the one that is lying?  Would it be Jesus, Moroni or Joseph Smith?  Smith said in Doctrine and Covenants 128; ‘For we without them cannot be made perfect; neither can they without us be made perfect. Neither can they nor we be made perfect without those who have died in the gospel also’.

Moroni 10:26 says this;  “And wo unto them who shall do these things away and die, for they die in their sins, and they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God; and I speak it according to the words of Christ; and I lie not.”

I am on the road and don’t have the quote in front of me from “Mormon Doctrine”… McConkie says that because the good spirits are preaching and teaching the bad spirits, there is a certain mingling together of good and bad spirits…
Or something to that effect… so much for the “great gulf fixed” that Jesus described
