Tip of the Day, September 21

21 September

September 21 – John 14:16-18; “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

My heart breaks as I think of the Mormon who sits daily wondering if the ‘Holy Spirit could just come to him’.  Jesus promises us the Comforter if we only believe, but the Mormon has no idea that this wonderful gift from above (God) can be for him personally.  Let him know the truth today.

_____

“The gift is bestowed only by the laying on of hands. A legal administrator, who actually represents Deity, promises the newly baptized person that he, on certain terms and conditions, can gain the constant companionship of the Spirit. The gift is reserved for the Saints.”  Bruce R. McConkie, Sermons and Writings of Bruce R. McConkie, 98.

“…on certain terms and conditions…” With Mormonism, it’s always conditional; with Christianity, it’s always unconditional. Grace, meaning undeserved love, flows from the God of the Bible. Search the scriptures and you’ll see how God works His unconditional love for all of us. Amazing!
