Tip of the Day, August 22

22 August

August 22 – Job 38:4-6; “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.  Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?  Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof.”

Notice today the vast difference of who God says we are and who Smith thinks we are.  After getting saved it took me awhile to fully realize the extent of all the lies I was taught and believed as a Mormon.

Share your favorite verse about God’s feelings towards His creation with the Mormon in your life today.  It seems the longer someone is a Mormon, the more immune they become to the truth of God’s word so keep reminding them of the truth.  Mormons will use the biblical verse above to “prove:” the doctrine of the pre-existence.

I’ve had many a Mormon missionary tell me that this is God reminding us we were there with Him, learning to become gods like Himself.

“One of the first doctrines to disappear when apostasy conceives in the hearts of mortals is the fact that God is a glorified man. When people repress that doctrine, they forget who they really are and what they may become (cf. the Zoramites, Alma 31:15)”.  Thoughts on Gospel Doctrine, Katherine Thomas.

God is a Spirit and not a glorified man. Jesus is His son. God did not come into the womb of Mary, but He placed a foetus in the virgin Mary (Miriam)
God was and has ever been and shall always be. Nobody was there when He created everything. (From there the above quoted question in Job) Jesus also came into the Plan of God as a solution of the wrong going of the first humans (Adam and Eve), but this man of God, the only begotten son, came only inot existence in -4 CE
