Mormon Dilemma 190

God is a Self Existing Being like Man

Discourses of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg 44; “The soul—the mind of man—the immortal spirit. Where did it come from? All learned men and doctors of divinity say that God created it in the beginning; but it is not so: the very idea lessens man in my estimation. I do not believe the doctrine; I know better…God has told me so; and if you don’t believe me, it will not make the truth without effect. I will make a man appear a fool before I get through; if he does not believe it.”

Psalm 90:2; “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”

Joseph went out of his way to demean and demoralize God in every way he knew how. While someone like my mother would never dream of saying the same thing Smith did here, her actions mimic his by believing his lies.

And herein lies the problem. Lies like this one have been passed down from one generation to the next and no one questions where Smith got his heretical ideas from, yet they teach the next generation without saying a word.

“…yet they teach it to the next generation without saying a word.”
INDEED! The crux of the dilemma is that last paragraph.
The blind leading the blind. Wonderful post!
