The following three LDS references show why Mormonism is not a Christian organization. Two of the quotes below are twisted plagiarisms of God’s word, and the third is a brazen contradiction of what Jesus proclaimed during His earthly ministry.

1.Journal of Discourses 9:312 “…He that confesseth not that Jesus has come in the flesh and sent Joseph Smith with the fullness of the Gospel to this generation, is not of God, but is anti-christ”. –  Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake City, July 13, 1862

1 John 4:3 “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist…”

2.Conference Report, April, 1961, p. 119 “This Church is the ensign on the mountain spoken of by the Old Testament prophets. It is the way, the truth, and the life” – Marion Romney

Isaiah 11:12 “And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”

3.The Articles of Faith, p. 203 “A self-suggesting interpretation of history indicates that there has been a great departure from the way of salvation as laid down by the Savior, a universal apostasy from the Church of Christ”. – James Talmage, 1899

Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

If Mormonism is a restoration, why are they plagiarizing Christian doctrines? The whole premise of Mormonism is that Christianity was so awful the Lord God had to come in and clean it all up.

If they were truly inspired of God, wouldn’t He have given them something new?

Also consider the verses below when speaking with the Mormon you know (I retrieved them from a sermon by John Piper, Desiring God). They all signify God doesn’t desert His people. If He didn’t desert us, why the need to change things?

1 John 2:18-19 ‘…there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us,  they would no doubt have continued with us…’

1 Corinthians 1:8 ‘Who shall also confirm you unto the end…’

Hebrews 13:21 ‘Make you perfect in every good work to do His will…’

Philippians 1:6 ‘…He that began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.’

1 Thessalonians 5:24 ‘Faithful is He who calleth you and He will do it…’

1 Peter 1:5 ‘Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation…’

Revelation 3:5 ‘…I will not blot out his name…’
