Where are the ‘White and Delightsome’ Indians?

BoM2 Nephi 30:5-7; “… wherefore, they shall be restored unto the knowledge of their fathers, and also to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, which was had among their fathers. 6 … and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people. 7 And it shall come to pass that the Jews which are scattered also shall begin to believe in Christ; and they shall begin to gather in upon the face of the land; and as many as shall believe in Christ shall also become a delightsome people.”

3 Nephi 2:15; “And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white like unto the Nephites.”

Acts 17:26; “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.”

We’re looking at three reasons why the ‘inspired’ works of Joe Smith aren’t from God. We’re also wondering what happened to the so-called ‘white and delightsome’ Indians he talked about so often.

1.The BoM narrative tells us the Mormon god cursed Indians with dark skin, which also meant that anyone who marries an Indian shall be cursed with dark skin as well, see other BoM references at the end of article. The other false prophecy in this passage says they’ll become ‘white and delightsome’ if they convert. Notice in vs. 6 they changed ‘white’ to ‘pure’. Either way, it’s still a false prophecy…

Biblically speaking, there’s no allowance whatsoever, for racism. God didn’t’ make man in His image according to His skin color. God is a spirit (John 4:24), and last we heard, spirits don’t have a genetic makeup of different races.

Besides all that, what type of god would do such a thing? Not the biblical God, that’s for sure! This is a sign of a malevolent god, not the benevolent God we know in the Bible.

2.Common sense tells us the ‘inspired’ Mormon scriptures are genetically impossible, and therefore, false.

3.The proof is in the pudding as they say, and personal experience proved it for me. When I was in elementary school my father worked for a company that transferred him out to different job locations. For one of his jobs we lived on a reservation in Blackfoot, Idaho, where I attended the local school for a couple of years.

The school population was relatively small, so everyone knew each other. I distinctly recall going to church every Sunday with the many of my classmates; the majority of whom belonged to the Blackfoot Nation. All had been born and raised LDS, yet no one had turned ‘white and delightsome’ as the BoM falsely claims, nor were they loathsome!

My second example comes from those who were used as guinea pigs in the LDS ‘Indian Placement Program’. Several of my classmates (Navajos) at my junior high and high schools were living with very white families in our ward. No one became any lighter at all. They were still the beautiful people at the end of high school they were when they began.

Fast forward several years, and I was living in Oklahoma City. For the two  years I lived there (’83-‘84)I think I only met one person who didn’t claim to have some Cherokee blood flowing in their veins, and none of my friends who were part Indian were dark, or loathsome…. Obviously, their grandparents had done the ‘unthinkable’ according to Mormon standards, yet no one I met became a different race.

Most importantly, please, don’t forget to pray for the Mormon people! We’re praying they’ll be receptive to the Lord when He provides truth to them, and they’ll come to have a saving knowledge of Christ and Him crucified!

2 Nephi 5:21-23; “And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity…wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them. 22 And thus saith the Lord God: I will cause that they shall be loathsome… 23 And cursed shall be the seed of him that mixeth with their seed; for they shall be cursed even with the same cursing…”

Jacob 3:5-6, 8-9; “Behold, the Lamanites your brethren, whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you; for they have not forgotten the commandment of the Lord…—that they should have save it were one wife, and concubines they should have none…6 And now, this commandment they observe to keep; wherefore, because of this observance, in keeping this commandment, the Lord God will not destroy them, but will be merciful unto them; and one day they shall become a blessed people. 8 O my brethren, I fear that unless ye shall repent of your sins that their skins will be whiter than yours…a commandment I give unto you, which is the word of God, that ye revile no more against them because of the darkness of their skins; neither shall ye revile against them because of their filthiness…”

Alma 3:6-10; “And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob, and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men. 7 And their brethren sought to destroy them, therefore they were cursed; and the Lord God set a mark upon them, yea, upon Laman and Lemuel, and also the sons of Ishmael, and Ishmaelitish women. 8 And this was done that their seed might be distinguished from the seed of their brethren, that thereby the Lord God might preserve his people, that they might not mix and believe in incorrect traditions which would prove their destruction. 9 And it came to pass that whosoever did mingle his seed with that of the Lamanites did bring the same curse upon his seed. 10 Therefore, whosoever suffered himself to be led away by the Lamanites was called under that head, and there was a mark set upon him.”

Mormon 5:15-17; “And also that the seed of this people may more fully believe his gospel, which shall go forth unto them from the Gentiles; for this people shall be scattered, and shall become a dark, a filthy, and a loathsome people, beyond the description of that which ever hath been amongst us, yea, even that which hath been among the Lamanites, and this because of their unbelief and idolatry. 16 For behold, the Spirit of the Lord hath already ceased to strive with their fathers; and they are without Christ and God in the world; and they are driven about as chaff before the wind. 17 They were once a delightsome people, and they had Christ for their shepherd; yea, they were led even by God the Father.”
