Tip of the Day, June 16

16 June

June 16 – Matt. 5:11; “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”

The word for today is revile; in Greek it is oneidizo.  It means to defame or rail at or towards.  Notice when you show a Mormon how they’ve misinterpreted scripture they will accuse you of horrible things instead of discussing the issues at hand.

This is when it’s vitally important to pray for them.  I’ve known many angry Mormons who hurl accusations at me and later will call or write to me apologizing for their behavior.  They were grateful a Christian held their tongue and showed them mercy during their ugly behavior.

1 Nephi 14:9-10; “…behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose foundation is the devil…the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth”.
