Tip of the Day, August 26
August 26 – Matthew 6:24; “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
The oaths taken in the Masonic Lodge were the blueprint for where Smith received ‘revelation’ for the Mormon temples. They take oaths to Ba’al and the Grand Master of Masonry to bring them forth from darkness to light.
“Joseph Smith joined the Masons to promote goodwill towards his people. He was true to his Masonic pledges. But Masonry could not overcome the hatred fired by untruth, when truth raised its banner. The experiment was a failure. The formation of the Nauvoo lodge rather hindered than helped the cause of the Church.” John A. Widtsoe, JosephSmith—Seeker after Truth, Prophet of God [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1951], 300.
