Isaiah 61:3 “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”

Our hearts were saddened by news of the passing of Reverend Billy Graham. He died at his home, February 21, 2018. America’s beloved pastor was 99 years old.

Mr. Graham’s crusades were held annually from 1947 until his retirement in 2005. It’s reported he preached to more than 2.2 billion people through the means of the crusades, and their subsequent broadcasts over radio, and television.

He insisted the crusades were to be racially integrated and invited Martin Luther King, Jr. to preach alongside him in 1957. He was also known to have bailed Reverend King out of jail after being arrested at demonstrations.

His first crusade, held in 1947, attracted more than 6,000 people. I was blessed to have served answering phone lines at several of his crusades that aired here in the Seattle area in the mid to late nineties.

We’re praying for his children, and the rest of his extended family. May our Lord comfort their hearts, and be blessed in knowing he was a stalwart for the Lord.

With Love in Christ;
