1 Thessalonians 5:22; “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p. 18; “We place him [Jesus] on a pedestal as no other group I know of. To us he is not only the Son of God, he is also a God and we are subject to him. And I am sure that no people in Christianity are so ready to sacrifice and consecrate their time, talents, money, and themselves to Christ and to his program on the earth. (1/9/48)…He is…the God of this earth…and…was crucified for the sins of the world…”
2 Corinthians 4:4; “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Well, the Church has certainly done just that. Indeed, they put Jesus on a pedestal like no other church can because they’ve made him a conglomeration of other gods, and not the God of the Bible.
They debased Him by stating He’s ‘the God of this earth’. 2 Corinthians 4:4.
They patronized Him by calling Him ‘a God’. Isaiah 43:10-11.
They maligned Him numerous times by teaching He was a polygamist. Journal of Discourses 4:260 is just one example.
They impugned His character, casting doubt on His miraculous birth by stating He wasn’t born of a virgin. Journal of Discourses 1:51.
Moreover, Mr. Kimball’s last comment was a sad one for the Mormon people.
Fact #1: Kimball cannot believe Jesus died for his sin on the cross while believing Joe Smith’s revelation in D&C 19:18 which states Jesus paid for sins at Gethsemane. I pray everyone will heed Paul’s warning to abstain from all appearances of evil!
Fact #2: Satan is the god of this earth, and for a so-called prophet of God to declare otherwise shows they know nothing of the Bible, or they’re purposefully tricking members of the Church.
