Is God a White Man?

Juvenile Instructor, Vol. 3, No. 20, p. 157; “We understand that when God made man in his own image and pronounced him very good, that he made him white.” – George Q. Cannon, October 15, 1868

Gal. 3:28; “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Well since Adam’s name means red and he was made from the earth I would venture to say he probably wasn’t white…all things are possible with God but confusion isn’t one of them.

Furthermore, when the Bible states that God made man in His own image this doesn’t mean God is a man. This phrase is an allegory. The verse in the Bible says; “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” – Gem 1:27

Since Jesus told us in John 4:24 that God is a spirit we know that God isn’t a man so the phrase in Genesis isn’t talking about physical attributes.
