Testifying of God

“The Power of a Personal Testimony,” Ensign, Nov. 2006, 38; “A testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ will always include these clear and simple truths:
–God lives. He is our loving Father in Heaven, and we are His children.
–Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and the Savior of the world.
–Joseph Smith is the prophet of God through whom the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored in the latter days.
–The Book of Mormon is the word of God.” – Dieter Uchtdorf

Psalm 66:16-17; “Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. 17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.”

The testimonies of Christians are a lot like we read in the selection from Psalms. We testify of God, what He’s done for us, who He is, etc. Nowhere in the testimonies of Christians do we praise Him because we belong to the “one true church”, nor do we testify of how marvelous our pastor is.

Testimonies are about God and what He did; not about what other human beings have done.
