Jesus Needed Baptism for His Salvation

The Promised Messiah, pgs 482, 485; “…since the Messiah came to earth to work out his own salvation, as well as to make salvation available to all men—…even he cannot return from mortality to his state of eternal glory without entering in at the gate, the gate of baptism. “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5.) The Lord Jesus, being a man, required baptism, even as other men. There is no other way.”

Matthew 3:15; “And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.”

Jesus didn’t get baptized so He could go back to heaven. Jesus was baptized as an example for us to do what the Father tells us to do. He did this to show us what we need to do as Christians.

First of all, Jesus was perfect and didn’t require salvation.  Jesus is God!  How can He not be perfect?!  He’s the One providing salvation for us – not you for yourself.  He did this like He said – to fulfill all righteousness – to be the example for us not for Him.
