 Joseph Smith and Money-digging

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 120; “—“Was not Joseph Smith a money digger?” Yes, but it was never a very profitable job for him, as he only got fourteen dollars a month for it.”

Prov. 28:22; “He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.”

Notice how he admits to his money digging ways yet we hear of no remorse for his actions. You can read more of his story about this in Joseph Smith’s Testimony.  And the Church.  How can a Christian church so flippantly admit to a prophet of God participating in these things and blows it off because he didn’t get rich from it…think about this.  How is this okay?

While we can’t know what’s in a man’s heart we can watch his actions and for the longest time we see Smith and family participating in scrying (divination), money digging, treasure hunting and using magical (seer) stones.  The apple didn’t fall far from this family tree.

There is nothing godly in any of these things, in fact God fiercely rejects them and warns against their use.
