LDS: Honesty Means No Pay

30 August

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Psalm 25:5

Seminary Teaching Manual, ‘The Mantle is Far, Far Greater Than the Intellect,’ 2004“Those of you who are employed by the Church have a special responsibility to build faith, not destroy it. If you do not do that, but in fact accommodate the enemy, who is the destroyer of faith, you become in that sense a traitor to the cause you have made covenants to protect.

Those who have carefully purged their work of any religious faith in the name of academic freedom or so-called honesty ought not expect to be accommodated in their researches or to be paid by the Church to do it.” Boyd K. Packer

Leviticus 19:11 “You must not steal. You must not lie or deceive one another.”

I’ve never had a job where I was told not to tell the truth. How about you?

Dictionary.com defines a traitor as ‘a person who betrays another, a cause, or any trust’.

This word is in the Bible just one time. You can find it in Luke 6:16

‘And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.’

It seems rather odd a so-called ‘Christian’ church would advise its employees to hide the truth.

Pray for the doors to keep opening so others can escape!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
