The Seer, p. 85 “And in that day the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, which bore record of the Father and the Son, saying, I am Jesus Christ from the beginning, henceforth and forever, that as thou hast fallen, thou mayest be redeemed and all mankind, even as many as will.” — Orson Pratt, 1853

Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”

Today we just have a few questions –

How did the Holy Ghost fall on Adam before Pentecost?

How is Jesus both the Holy Ghost and the Son of God?

Moreover, how did Orson Pratt consider Adam as ‘fallen’ when Mormons don’t believe he sinned?

This excerpt from Pratt’s work, The Seer, may seem like an obscure albatross we’ve pulled from a dark and dusty shelf. However, this man’s teachings were the mainstay of Mormon theology for many years. His teachings were passed down from one generation to the next, and the confusion about God’s Holy Spirit is still alive and well today in 21stcentury Mormonism.

Pray for those who are ensnared in the myriads of lies this church has produced!

With Love in Christ;
