Ensign, ‘The Shield of Faith,’ May 2000; “I believe that the appearance of God the Father and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, in 1820 to Joseph Smith unlocked the heavens not only to the great spiritual knowledge revealed in this dispensation but also to secular knowledge.” – James Faust

Isaiah 47:10; “For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; And thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.”

Smith’s vision was indeed noteworthy given the fact everyone should take heed to false prophets. Be that as it may, Smith’s supposed vision wasn’t the cause, or even the effect of what was taking place around the world.

Comments like this are proof they’re desperately grasping at straws to pump up Smith’s importance to the world when in fact, he was just another false teacher that’s come along in the history of life.

What scientific discovery was made because Smith went to the woods to speak with demons?

Consider this –

The reference Mr. Faust pulled to talk about Smith’s awesome contributions to mankind came from one of Smith’s speeches that a follower (Oliver Huntington) recorded in his diary several years later. The speech he was referring to was when Smith prophesied men lived on the moon and dressed like Quakers.

We find this to be a deliberately sinister way of hiding the truth while using their blatantly false prophecies to garner support for their viewpoint.
