Holy Ghost: A Man, and Son of God
Journal of Discourses, 5:179; “Well, let me tell you, the Holy Ghost is a man; he is one of the sons of our Father and our God; and he is that man that stood next to Jesus Christ, just as I stand by brother Brigham.” – Heber C. Kimball, Great Salt Lake City, August 23, 1857
Ephesians 1:13; “In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise”.
Mr. Kimball’s lecture came as a surprise even to me. Everything the Church has always taught has been the same, albeit wrong! The Mormon holy ghost is still waiting for a body according to various writings, and even their beloved canon in D&C 130:22-23. For another example see our post from July 2014 –
Encyclopedia of Mormonism, p 649; “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that the Holy Ghost is a spirit man, a spirit son of God the Father. It is fundamental Church doctrine that God is the Father of the spirits of all men and women, that Jesus is literally God’s Son both in the spirit and in the flesh, and that the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit separate and distinct from both the Father and the Son.” – Daniel Ludlow
How many contradictions will it take? We’re praying each and every member of the LDS Church, will stop and wonder why. I’m convinced that if God sent Christians my way to share the truth, He’ll do it for anyone! Please pray, and witness!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
