Doctrines of Demons in Mormon Temples

12 July

History of the Church 4:608; “Sunday, May 1, 1842.—I preached in the grove, on the keys of the kingdom, charity, &c. The keys are certain signs and words by which false spirits and personages may be detected from true, which cannot be revealed to the Elders till the Temple is completed. The rich can only get them in the Temple, the poor may get them on the mountain top as did Moses. The rich cannot be saved without charity, giving to feed the poor when and how God requires, as well as building. There are signs in heaven, earth and hell; the Elders must know them all, to be endowed with power, to finish their work and prevent imposition. The devil knows many signs, but does not know the sign of the Son of Man, or Jesus. No one can truly say he knows God until he has handled something and this can only be in the holiest of holies.” – Joseph Smith

1 Corinthians 10:14-22; “Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. 16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? 19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything? 20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. 22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?”

I’ve been listening to a 3 part series by Pastor Alistair Begg, ‘You Can’t Have It Both Ways’, that I highly recommend! In the last sermon he spoke on spiritual warfare, and those who don’t believe Satan is real. This is a ‘must-listen’ podcast!

Those who are familiar with Mormonism can certainly attest to the fact that Satan is more than real. Smith’s sermon from 1842 tells us he’s as real today, as he was back then.

Smith’s teachings were all over the place in this one! He said you can’t know the true God until you’ve handled something, and that something can’t be revealed until they have a temple which they didn’t have…

Reading further back a day or two in the History of the Church, Smith also gave directives on how to tell if a spirit is from God, or the devil.

Make no mistake my friends! This is Satan at his finest. It’s just as Pastor Begg said in his sermon today, Satan created a fine mess indeed. He convinced people he wasn’t real, convinced people they can do whatever they please, whenever they want, and then dumped them wondering why they’re in the mess they find themselves in today.

That’s where the Mormons were 175 years ago (and still are as I type this). They trusted in a man who told them he was sent here by God. That man told them they couldn’t know God until they built a temple, so they did just that, 151 times over.

Today they’re told they can’t know God unless they hear from their latest prophet. Where in the Bible does it say they can’t know God without the prophet, or they can’t know God without a temple?

As always, please pray for those caught in these horrific lies and to be accepting of the fact that Satan has blinded them with his foolish philosophies!
