Working for Salvation of Others Essential

17 January

Jack_H_GoaslindGeneral Conference, ‘Our Responsibility to Take the Gospel to the Ends of the Earth,’ October 1983; “Let me state it clearly and pointedly. Working for the salvation of others is essential for our own salvation.” – Jack Goaslind, Jr.

John 14:6; “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,  but by me.”

Jesus unequivocally stated salvation is only obtained by going through Him.

In light of what Jesus said we’re wondering why Mr. Goaslind, the 17th general president of the Church’s Young Men organization from 1990 to 1998, felt it necessary to contradict what our Lord told us.

If salvation for others is gained through us, what did Jesus mean in His statement above?

Our other question today is this:

Whom do you believe?

Jesus, or Mr. Goaslind?

They both can’t be right!
