Whom Do Mormons Adore? Jesus, or Joseph?

28 November

Christmas Devotional, “Oh, Come, Let Us Adore Him — and the Plan!,” December 2015“I feel certain that, as premortal spirits learning of the plan of salvation, we not only beheld and adored but also shouted for joy when he voluntarily and humbly offered himself as the Savior of the world. In five of the most profound words ever uttered, he meekly said, “Here am I, send me.”” — Linda K. Burton

Isaiah 6:8 “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

Today we’re taking a look at a Christmas Devotional speech given by Linda Burton, who was the Relief Society President at the time.

Here are some of the reasons why this caught our attention ~

1.It reminded us of the April 2017 General Conference talk by Bonnie Cordon who stated Mormons fought with their testimonies while in the pre-existence. Somehow leaders of the Church believe it’s okay to say things that didn’t happen. Mankind didn’t live in heaven before they were born here on earth — 1 Corinthians 15:44-47.

2.Why are they including the works of Joe Smith in with Jesus? Mentioning anything in addition to adoring Jesus takes attention away from the Lord, and places it on someone/something else, which in this case is Joe Smith.

3.Why are they quoting a bible verse they don’t believe is true? We looked at this a couple of weeks ago when their apostle D. Todd Christofferson took this verse out of context.

In this example we can see how Ms. Burton has Jesus quoting Isaiah 700 yrs before Isaiah was born!

4.Jesus didn’t ‘volunteer’ for the atonement. He’s not a created being as mankind is, and He’s not Lucifer’s brother. Jesus is God — John 1:1, 14.

5.The Christmas song, ‘O Come Let Us Adore Him’, can be seen in Luke 2:15-16Matthew 2:2, and even Psalm 95:6-7. It’s a stark reminder Mormons shouldn’t be singing that song because it says ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’. Mormons aren’t faithful when they don’t believe in the Jesus of the Bible.

Although we looked at the difference between the Mormon Jesus and the Jesus of the Bible a few days ago, this serves as an example of how the Church goes out of its way to confuse its members. Not only have they lied about Jesus, now they’ve lied about whom you should worship.

As you spend time with friends/loved ones in the next few weeks, ask the Mormon you know who they adore! Is it Jesus, or Joseph?

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
