Tip of the Day, October 14

14 October

October 14 – Acts 1:5; “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

_____

Here we have Jesus telling the disciples the Holy Ghost was on the way for them.  Joseph Smith seems to think Adam was filled with the Holy Ghost.  And why was the Holy Ghost telling Adam that He is the Only Begotten?  I thought Jesus was the “Only Begotten”?  Thus the term “only”…

Oh the frustration this causes inside my heart!  I am sickened when I think of these Mormon “scriptures” and my mother reading them.  I wonder what goes through her mind…or if it would occur to her that she can look up biblical scriptures which would clear her confusion.

Pray for these dear folks who want so badly to please the Lord but they have the wrong Jesus!

Moses 5:9; “And in that day the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, which beareth record of the Father and the Son, saying: I am the Only Begotten of the Father from the beginning, henceforth and forever, that as thou hast fallen thou mayest be redeemed, and all mankind, even as many as will.”

I understand the frustration. But just as God is patient towards us we need to be patient towards others.

Trust me when I say we have patience for the Mormon people. Michelle who posts articles regularly on this blog was raised Mormon and still has family in this religion, and I was a convert to Mormonism and a member for many years. We have nothing but love and concern for these people. We lived on both sides of the fence,we know what Mormonism is really all about, and have learned this isn’t the way to eternal life with God.

Our hearts desire is to see Mormons saved, be converted to Christ and have a lasting relationship with Him. However, that being say it’s very hard for us to see Mormons and their leaders pervert the true gospel of Jesus Christ. We’ve seen what Mormon Doctrine has done for its people and it’s far from pretty.

I believe Mormons could be an incredible force for good, and for the Lord if they’d toss aside the false notions of Mormonism for the one, true Jesus Christ. – Melissa
