Tip of the Day, November 5

05 November

October 5 – Daniel 9:25; “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”

This was 600 years before He was born, 600 years before Mary was told she would give birth, 600 years before Joseph was told to name the Messiah, Jesus.  Why wasn’t Daniel told the name of the Lord?  For that matter, what about David, Abraham, Isaiah or any of the other prophets?  How come only the Mormon prophet was told the name?

Also notice the supposed revelation of the name He was given.  Christ is not part of His name.  Christ is a title.

Christ is the Greek form of the Hebrew word Messiah.  Using the word Christ in 550 BC is proof this is a false prophecy in the Book of Mormon.  Greek wasn’t a language until circa 320 BC.

Finally, Smith told people there was no Greek or Latin in the Book of Mormon so why is Nephi using this word? (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 299)  Also see our article on this subject here:

2 Nephi 25:19; “For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.”
