Tip of the Day, May 4

04 May

May 4 – Deut. 13:5, 8; “And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God…

Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him…but thou shalt surely kill him…”

False prophets abound in this world.  They range from the Jim Jones’ of the 70’s to the television set in your own living room.  But what if they “look good”?  How do you know if they sound just like us?  God tells us that if even one thing is not true that comes from the prophet’s mouth, he is trying to seduce to you other gods.  As of 2004, the Nauvoo House belongs to the Reformed LDS Church, not the mainstreamLDSChurchinUtah.  Thus, the qualification for a false prophecy.

D&C 124:59-60; “Therefore, let my servant Joseph and his seed after him have place in that house, from generation to generation, forever and ever, saith the Lord. And let the name of that house be called Nauvoo House; and let it be a delightful habitation for man, and a resting-place for the weary traveler, that he may contemplate the glory of Zion, and the glory of this, the corner-stone thereof.”

Joseph Smith was certainly not the martyr he claimed to be. The people got fed up with him taking their wives and marrying the young women so they killed him!
