Shameless Cover-up of Joe Smith’s Necromancy

moroni-2016Why Did Moroni Deliver the Gold Plates on September 22?

“…Moroni’s annual visits occurred generally around the time of the Israelite harvest festival season. The initial visit on September 21 in 1823 coincided with that year’s celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles. In 1824, September 22 was the eve of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) and the beginning of the fall festivals.”

Wow, oh wow, oh wow! I was picking my jaw up off the floor after reading the headlines of this one – good grief. Once again, the Church knows no bounds when it comes to this stuff.

The other day I came upon an article at LDSLiving.com that defies all Christian sensibilities. Were all used to reading excuses the Church comes up with to justify their unbiblical views of our Lord. And then there are times when the Church’s outrageous behavior causes even the most seasoned amongst us, to stop and take notice. Today is that day.

The outright, blatant lies they came up with this time, should give everyone pause. Their brazen, not to mention unblushing, behavior they employ in order to deceive is mindboggling. And no, there aren’t enough adjectives in the English language to describe how awful this is.

For clarification, we wrote about this a week ago and clearly see where none of the feasts and festivals are even mentioned by Smith. See Events in Mormon History: Moroni and Blood Atonement. I pray that if you’re LDS, you realize how vitally important it is to clearly understand what Smith was doing on his yearly meetings with the angel of light, Moroni, and that if this was such a monumental event, why didn’t members know about it until 1842?

Furthermore, why did Smith originally refer to this angel of light as, ‘Nephi’, and not Moroni?

Secondly, just to be sure the truth is out there…Smith wasn’t observing any of the Jewish feasts or festivals. If he was, why didn’t he write about this, and why aren’t there any references to it in his prized BoM?

No, Smith was observing the Autumn Equinox and honoring the traditions of witchcraft, not the Jewish feasts, and/or festivals. His activities are outlined in the following articles;

Joseph Smith’s Witchcraft, Scrying and Arrest 1820 – 1827, and Salem Witch Trials and Joseph Smith’s Relatives.

During the four years in question, Smith was finagling his way in the community to make himself known as the village necromancer. His shenanigans are reminiscent of the biblical character, Simon, who was a magician and tried to pull off the same stunts when Christianity was just taking shape.

Our hearts are as grieved as much as they are insulted, over the number of people who’ll be deceived by this.

Shame on them for doing this. Shame, shame, shame.

We’re asking our dear Christian brothers and sisters to come alongside us in prayer for this. I for one, can just see my mother reading this, and falling head over heels believing this atrocity. We’re also praying those who have loved ones caught in this nightmare will remember 1 John 4:4 which reminds us of His faithfulness –

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Thanks and God bless!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
