Seven Lies in 2018 LDS Christmas Message

13 December

First Presidency releases 2018 Christmas message“Following is the 2018 First Presidency Christmas message, released Dec. 6 and signed by President Russell M. Nelson, President Dallin H. Oaks and President Henry B. Eyring:

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, offers to us four incomparable gifts — the capacity to love others, the ability to forgive, the blessing of repentance and the promise of life everlasting. … They were made possible because Jehovah condescended to come to earth as the baby Jesus. He was born of an immortal Father and a mortal mother. He was born in Bethlehem under the most humble of circumstances. His was the holy birth foreseen by prophets since the days of Adam. Jesus Christ is God’s transcendent gift — the gift of the Father to all of His children. (See John 3:16.) We joyfully celebrate His birth this Christmas season.”

2 Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

When my daughters were young, they asked me what I thought of with the baby Jesus lying in a manger.

I told them, ‘That baby is going to die for me’. Years later, they both told me it seemed like an odd answer at the time, but once grown they understood. Nativity scenes encompasse all of Jesus’ life, not just the aesthetic imagery seemingly unattached to the whole story. Somehow the Church’s announcement, falls under the latter. With that in mind, we’re taking a look at what they said, and asking questions along the way. Hold on tight friends, it’s a bumpy ride.

1.In their text you’ll notice they didn’t name any specific OT prophet who supposedly foretold of Jesus’ birth. Just who are these supposed prophets from the days of Adam? Where in the OT does any prophet mention Jesus’ name?

2.How did Jesus give us the gift of loving, and forgiving others, if he was created as well? Where in LDS canon does it say Jesus did these two things?

They’re using meaningless phrases to fill empty space on a page.

3.How would Jesus be able to promise life everlasting if he’s not God?

What’s the ‘blessing of repentance’ they mentioned?

4.How could the Mormon Jesus be the ‘transcendent gift’ if he’s only a created ‘half deity’ as they’ve described him?

Here’s how Google.com defined transcendent —

‘beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience’.

According to Mormonism, their Jesus doesn’t qualify because the LDS heavenly father came down and had sex with Mary to beget Jesus.

5.The first sentence of their message is probably the most important when they stated Jesus gave us ‘four incomparable gifts’.

Not one of those gifts included salvation through His spilt blood!

6.Consider also the statement he was ‘born in Bethlehem’. According to their canon (BoM), Jesus was born in Jerusalem, not Bethlehem — Alma 7:10.

7.Lastly beloved, we’re asking why they’ve used John 3:16 when they don’t believe the Bible has been translated correctly? What does this verse mean for people like my mother who don’t trust the Bible?

Be sure to ask the Mormon you know what they think of the Church’s message, and show from the Bible, the truth about God’s incredible gift of His Son!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
