I would like to call it the “society of Zion”—a society so sufficient and so complete within itself that it could take care of every need of man. There would be no reason whatsoever for giving the Law of Consecration as an economic program for the Latter-day Saints if the Lord did not expect that through this Church program men were to carry out their total economic pursuits. 2 Peter 2:9-10The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
