Numerous Lies in LDS Youth Magazine’s ‘Mormonad’

24 April

New Era, ‘Onward Christian Soldiers,’ April 2017; “The men and women, who desire to obtain seats in the celestial kingdom, will find that they must battle every day.” – Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young [1997], 294”

Colossians 2:15; “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Looking through the latest edition of the New Era Magazine we found a few problems in the Church’s latest ‘Mormonad’. We’re praying Christians will use it as a witnessing tool! Check out what they’ve done…

1.The Church’s use of Brigham Young’s statement is false because Jesus told us the battle is over!!!! He won!!! Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!!!! Christians don’t have to battle, they just need to believe and trust!

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

2.Why are they using a statement like this from Brigham’s time? He was referring to fighting against naysayers of polygamy, and the Christians of his day. The New Era Magazine is written for their youth group (ages 12-18). See Journal of Discourses 11:14 for more info.

3.We’re also wondering why they used the Christian hymn, ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’. A link for the lyrics of this song is listed below. Written in 1865, the hymn as you know, speaks to the cross! They’ve denounced the cross, and the Christians, so why would they use this other than to confuse, and mislead?

Why are they lying to the children?

Wow! What a tangled web we weave…

Onward, Christian Soldiers
By: Sabine Baring-Gould

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.
Christ, the royal master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle
See his banners go!
