Mulek; Is it a Land or False god? – Mormon Quotes

Helaman 6:10; Now the land south was called Lehi and the land north was called Mulek, which was after the son of Zedekiah; for the Lord did bring Mulek into the land north, and Lehi into the land south.

1 Kings 11:1-8Now King Solomon loved many foreign women along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, 2from the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the sons of Israel, “You shall not associate with them, nor shall they associate with you, for they will surely turn your heart away after their gods.” Solomon held fast to these in love. 3He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away. 4For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians and after Milcom the detestable idol of the Ammonites. 6Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and did not follow the LORD fully, as David his father had done. 7Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable idol of Moab, on the mountain which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon.8Thus also he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

The passage in 1st Kings is an eye-opener!  Notice that God lists all the people, places and gods He did not approve of in His word.

Compare it with what the Mormons have to say.

Zedekiah didn’t have a son named Mulek.

Moab – a city in Utah. (Utah is considered to be “Zion” to the Mormon so all the towns and cities are of God.)

Ammonites – They observed the laws of Moses and looked forward to the coming of Christ.  Alma 25:15-16.  Their origin is actually from the Lamanites; Alma 24:17-8.

Mulek (Milcom) – Book of Mormon’s definition: Mulek was land in the north that God prospered and appointed.  Mulek was a son of Zedekiah.  Helaman 6:10.

Sidon – Book of Mormon’s definition: In 84 BC, Alma began baptizing the people in the river of Sidon.  Alma 4:4. Sidon was also the river where the Nephites defeated the Amlicites & the Lamanites.  Alma threw their bodies from the banks into the river so that they could cross to the other side. Alma 2:17, 27, 34-5.  It says that the land where Sidon was became peaceful and prosperous.

Chemish is one of the “inspired” authors of the Book of Mormon.
