Mormonism: Women Created for Marriage and Motherhood

24 January

Journal of Discourses 25:228; “…it [polygamy] is a pure and holy institution; not to bring women into bondage, but to place them in that position for which they were created—to give them the opportunity to become honored wives and mothers…” – Charles W. Penrose, Salt Lake City, July 26, 1884

Isaiah 43:7; “Even every one that is called by my name: For I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”

There’s nothing in the Bible telling us that women were created so she could have babies.

God tells us in His word He created mankind for His glory, and to have a relationship with them. It’s impossible to have a relationship with the Lord if your main focus is on another human being in trying to reproduce, and work your way to heaven.

Mr. Penrose was the father of 29 children, and married to 3 women. He was an apostle, and worked in numerous fields for Mormonism.

He listed many things women should do, but not one of those things included studying the word of God to have a relationship with Jesus.
