Mormon God Changes Mind on LGBT Policies

05 April

Salt Lake Tribune “In a Thursday announcement, church leaders confirmed that children of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender parents may be blessed as babies — a tradition within the faith — and baptized without the need for approval from the faith’s governing First Presidency.

Couples in a same-gender marriage would also cease to be subject to automatic disciplinary action. “While we still consider such a marriage to be a serious transgression,” a church news release states, “it will not be treated as apostasy for purposes of church discipline. Instead, the immoral conduct in heterosexual or homosexual relationships will be treated in the same way…Sen. Derek Kitchen, D-Salt Lake City, the only openly gay member of the Utah Legislature, said…“The world is changing,” Kitchen said, “and the church is changing alongside it.””

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

The excerpt above came from the Salt Lake Tribune who ran an article on the latest shift of policies surrounding the LDS Church. To be sure, it’s another patronizing moment in the Church’s long history of doing such things.

We also found the last part of the Church’s official announcement very telling. Here’s part of what the Newsroom stated –

‘These changes do not represent a shift in Church doctrine related to marriage or the commandments of God in regard to chastity and morality. The doctrine of the plan of salvation and the importance of chastity will not change. These policy changes come after an extended period of counseling with our brethren in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and after fervent, united prayer to understand the will of the Lord on these matters.’

In the Church’s constant state of flux, it’s a wonder indeed they’re still holding true to their stance that sex outside traditional marriage is a sin. Rearranging a few words here and there, didn’t change the bottom line. Again, it’s reminiscent of the old saying they’re just rearranging chairs on the Titanic.

As a reminder…

God doesn’t rate sin on a sliding scale basis.

Everyone sins. Romans 3:10 says no one is righteous. Hence the need of a Redeemer, which the Church claims they believe in as well.

We’re wondering if they’ll come through at General Conference with the rumors that hot drinks are now okay…the bottom line is that they’re just yanking the chains of members.

Our plea to all Mormons –

Please, think about this god you’re worshiping! What other changes might he throw your way, and if it’s so far off the scale will you continue to stay? As the scripture in Malachi said, ‘God doesn’t change’!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
