Spirit of Truth

“To Acquire Spiritual Guidance,” Ensign, Nov. 2009, 6-7; “I am convinced that there is no simple formula or technique that would immediately allow you to master the ability to be guided by the voice of the Spirit. Our Father expects you to learn how to obtain that divine help by exercising faith in Him and His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Were you to receive inspired guidance just for the asking, you would become weak and ever more dependent on Them. They know that essential personal growth will come as you struggle to learn how to be led by the Spirit.” – Richard G. Scott

John 14:23, 26; “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

John 16:13; “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

This man’s words sent chills up my spine. He is one scary dude with the lies that so easily fall from his lips. It’s as if Satan himself was talking through him.

Why would is it bad to be dependent upon God?

Just imagine a parent telling a child they can’t ask for help because they should be self-sufficient from the time they’re brought into the family…what kind of mom or dad would they be? Likewise, God would NEVER do that to His children. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would come and never leave us.

Why would God kick us to the curb after we’ve made a commitment to Him?

Furthermore, Jesus told us to cast our cares upon Him and take His yoke because it is light. Why is the LDS Church preaching that life is a struggle while at the same time telling adherents the plan of salvation is to be happy?

With mixed messages and lies like this where do you go for truth?  Jesus of course!
