Self Reliance and Temples

Coming to Ourselves: The Sacrament, the Temple, and Sacrifice in Service“, General Conference, Apr. 2012; “We become converted and spiritually self-reliant as we prayerfully live our covenants—through worthily partaking of the sacrament, being worthy of a temple recommend, and sacrificing to serve others.”  —Elder Robert D. Hales

2 Cor. 3:5; “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

Isaiah 2:17; “And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.”

God does the converting, not man. Psalm 19:7a says; “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul…”  How could we as man ever think we are the ones who can convert others or ourselves by becoming self reliant of all things?

If we’re self-reliant to become more holy, worthy, etc., then why would we need God in the first place?

    WHY WE CARE:
We care that you know that God does this and not our works/ self-reliance.
We care that you know the REAL, Biblical Jesus.
We care that you know there are only 2 ways You can go; Heaven or Hell

Hell is the complete absence of God, weeping and gnashing of teeth. Jesus Himself told the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. he told of the rich man wanting relief and getting none.

Heaven is a gift of Eternal life with Jesus praising Him forever. He gives this Eternal life to us NOW vs.. Mormonism’s eons away.

We want you to know that this free gift is yours without earning it. God through His Word can and will change your heart to see the Truth. Humble yourself, pray and ask Him to shown you in the Word of God this Love.
