Murder is Forgiven in Some Mormon Scriptures

3 Nephi 30:2; “Turn, all ye Gentiles, from your wicked ways; and repent of your evil doings, of your lyings and deceivings, and of your whoredoms, and of your secret abominations, and your idolatries, and of your murders, and your priestcrafts, and your envyings, and your strifes, and from all your wickedness and abominations, and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, that ye may receive a remission of your sins, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, that ye may be numbered with my people who are of the house of Israel.”

D&C 42:18; “And now, behold, I speak unto the church. Thou shalt not kill; and he that kills shall not have forgiveness in this world, nor in the world to come.”

1 John 1:9; “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 2:2; “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Just in case there is any doubt in your mind whether or not God can forgive you for murder, here are two outstanding bible scriptures to combat that doubt. When I first got saved it took me awhile to figure out I was included in statements like the last verse above. A friend of mine asked me one time if I was included in “the whole world”…duh…  It finally dawned on me I was one person in the whole world; therefore I could allow myself to be part of statements like this.

False guilt is a way Satan wants to keep you away from God and believing the lies he gave birth to. Don’t buy into them!!!  I’ve never killed anyone mind you; however in my mind my sins were worse than murder. That means I was being judgmental…that took me on another road. I had to ask God to take inventory of my heart and cleanse me from anything hidden I wasn’t allowing Him to be involved with.

Another dimension in this menagerie of lies in Mormonism is how they classify murder. According to leaders in the Church it is beyond forgiveness. D&C 42:19, 79.  Interestingly enough they posthumously baptized a handful of murderers that had been ex-communicated.
