Eternal Progression

Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345; “We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity.  I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see.”

Moroni 8:18; “For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable, from all eternity to all eternity.”

Distinct Doctrines and Teachings of the Pearl of Great Price, pg. 76;He [the Father] will then take a higher exaltation, [that is, in glory] and I [Jesus] shall take his place, and thereby become exalted myself. So that Jesus treads in the tracks of his Father, and inherits what God did before; and God is thus glorified and exalted in the salvation and exaltation of all his children.” – Hyrum Andrus

John 8:58; Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Numbers 23:19; God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Revelation 1:8; I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

“Jesus treads in the tracks of his father”?  Honestly, just how convoluted will the lies become?

The teaching from Joseph Smith was the introduction of Eternal Progression which Brigham Young expounded upon throughout the years.. Joseph gave this as a sermon for the Mormon elder by the name of King Follett on April 7, 1844 in front of a crowd of 20,000. It was also their General Conference. Smith was dead 81 days later.

Eternal Progression is no longer taught in Mormonism although parts of it are still very strongly held onto and propagated in their weekly lessons. It enveloped the teaching that God was once a man and is now exalted and that he eternally progresses with more real estate if you will as his children gain their own planets and fill them with their own sexually begotten spirit children.

The latter part of that teaching has been expunged from their books. God being an exalted man is what makes the LDS Church tick today. They hold firmly to the belief they will become gods themselves as this is true salvation.

What we see again in LDS scriptures is how they repeatedly contradict themselves in their goal to confuse members. Whenever the missionaries show up at my door Moroni 8:18 and Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith is what is hone in on while I have them for a few moments. I want to ask them why it contradicts itself and what their opinion is of that. I also ask who they believe God is and if God would deliberately confuse them.
