Christianity; Don’t Contend with Other Faiths

Favorite Quotations from the Collection of Thomas S. Monson, pg 43; “Go in all meekness and sobriety, and preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified; not to contend with others on account of their faith, or systems of religion, but pursue a steady course. This I deliver by way of commandment, and all who observe it not will pull down persecution upon their heads, while those who do shall always be filled with the Holy Ghost; this I pronounce as a prophecy.  Joseph Smith” – Thomas S. Monson

Matthew 24:23-26; “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.  24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.”

It’s too bad the Mormon people who hang out on the internet don’t pay attention to the words of their prophets. Lately there’s been an attack on the Facebook pages of anyone who opposes Mormonism. They’re taking part in antics that resemble the work of someone in junior high.

Here’s what is going on – Mormons will complain to Facebook that a Facebook page is insensitive or intolerant or racist or whatever they deem necessary to complain about. Facebook will send out a warning to the page who they’ve received the complaint about.

If it happens again Facebook will then close down your page with no questions asked for 48 hours. So it only takes a Mormon and his Mormon friend to take part to get things rolling.

One of my volunteers had this happen to her (2/15/2012).  She’s now lost her Facebook page that reaches out to Mormons because two Mormons complained that she’s not being tolerant.  Go figure, the irony is rich today folks…

My volunteer Melissa’s post contained the following question on her Facebook page:

“The temple worthy Mormons are buried with their green fig leaf apron’s on too, along with their other temple clothing, aren’t they? I wonder if they believe they will be dressed in their fig leaf aprons and other temple wear for eternity in the Celestial Kingdom?”

This also happened to other friends of mine who work in ministry and have chat rooms through Facebook. By responding to someone by name when they’ve written in is considered harassment and they’ll close it down.  True story people!

Because Facebook is a privately owned company it can make up their own rules (and rightly so!); we just wish they’d check out the credibility of those who are complaining. A quick glance at any of the two pages I’m referring to will tell you the Mormons are the problem, not those posting quotes from Mormon leaders.

We’re wondering if the Mormons have ever heard of the 1st Amendment or listening to their prophets. After all, Joe Smith himself proclaimed it as a prophecy.
