Salvation by Following the Prophets

Journal of Discourses 4:3; “My feelings are for you to learn to follow our leader, our Prophet, our President. He will be our President in eternity, and Joseph is his President and will counsel him, and you need not trouble yourselves, but do as you are told and you will obtain salvation and go into the celestial glory…You have got to be organized and disciplined by the Priesthood, and you have got to stick to that organization, for you cannot be saved with a celestial glory unless you are saved by this Priesthood.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, June 29, 1856

Jude 1:24-25; “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”

There is no one but Jesus who we will bow before and pay all homage to and that goes for here as well as heaven.

Since the Bible doesn’t say anything about a presidential order I can be assured Joseph, Brigham and the other “prophets/presidents” won’t be there awaiting some glorious honor from those who followed them here on earth.

You’ll notice in the LDS teaching above there is absolutely no mention of Jesus. His name wasn’t mentioned even one time. And even though we’ve edited this paragraph because we didn’t want to plagiarize, you can go to the original writing and find our claims are still true.

Not one time is Jesus’ name mentioned in this teaching by the apostle Heber Kimball. If you’re a Christian who claims you worship and follow only Jesus, then why wouldn’t you teach that you’re saved because of Jesus?
