Missionary Worthiness Interview and Questions

27 October

Mormon Newsroom, pp. 8 –11; “Appendix…Honesty and Integrity. “Be honest with yourself, others, and God at all times. Being honest means choosing not to lie, steal, cheat, or deceive in any way. …“Closely associated with honesty is integrity. Integrity means thinking and doing what is right at all times, no matter what the consequences. …Choose to live so that your thoughts and behavior are always in harmony with the gospel””

For members of the LDS Church, the list of requirements to prove their worthiness to the Mormon god is arduous. In order to receive salvation in Mormonism, there are several ‘worthiness interviews’ they must go through in determining if they’re truly acceptable to their god.

Today we’re looking at yet another worthiness requirement, recently implemented for their missionary workforce. Along with that announcement, we’re also looking at the latest news regarding the Church’s missionary workforce. Let’s get started!

Last week the Church released a list of 16 questions for local bishops to ask prospective missionaries before they’re counted worthy to go out in the field. While some were necessary, others were far too personal, and very unnecessary. For more info see Interview Questions and click on highlighted link in first paragraph ‘’questions’.

The reason I’ve listed it this way is from spiritual warfare. Each time I embedded this same link into the article it wouldn’t open the site so we’re going around that problem by doing it this way. Or you can simply click on the link listed below and it should work. Good grief…

BTW – the quote at the top of this article was retrieved from the list of questions.

Our main concern with this list of questions and the Church’s comments are as follows:

1.In part, the quote above said, ‘…Being honest means choosing not to lie…Choose to live so that your thoughts and behavior are always in harmony with the gospel.’ This came from the PDF with the list of questions for the missionaries.

We’re wondering…how do the missionaries do this? It’d be virtually impossible to do both things! Choosing to always be honest would require they tell the truth about the false god, and false gospel of Mormonism.

One thing is absolutely certain, if you’re living in harmony with the Mormon gospel, you’re not out there preaching the Jesus of the Bible. You’re preaching a gospel invented and written by Joseph Smith, not God.

2.An article in the Salt Lake Tribune noted that according to Gary Crittenden (managing director of the LDS missionary department), the Church will be closing a number of missions due to ‘the decreased number of missionaries’. Mr. Crittenden cited the initial surge of 88,000 missionaries in 2012, has now declined to roughly 70,000, and the Church is looking at ways to better utilize the resources of what they have on hand.

Our response?

Praise the Lord! Thank You Jesus for answered prayers!!!

3.One last item of import. I read an interesting comment on another ‘anti-Mormon’ website I found rather thought-provoking. The SL Trib article quoted the Church as saying, ‘Missionary safety is a special concern’. The other site derailed that theory by pointing out this can’t be true because of the death oaths taken in temple ceremonies.

While members are no longer required to act out the hand gestures of cutting their own throats if they reveal the secrets in their ceremonies, they’re still parroting the oaths when instructed by the officiator to do so. See LDSEndowment for more info. How can the Church be concerned about their safety if they’re promising self-inflicted death oaths?

We’re asking our Christian brothers and sisters to pray for these kids! Pray that either they, or their parents, will allow Jesus to open their eyes to the fallacies in this fake gospel! I for one, am convinced prayer works!

These lists of questions for members are nothing but a ruse to keep members sidetracked in taking their attention from Jesus.

Thanks for praying and God bless!

Michelle
