Life After Ministries E-mails July 2016

26 July

1 Thessalonians 4:8 “He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.”

mailbagOur Bible verse today is the one of the reasons for this ministry. The good Lord has always been able to lovingly remind me of what He saved me from by working for Him and the world of Mormonism.

The e-mails today are actually some of the comments we receive on our blog and website. If/when you might have a few moments we could really use the help of our dear Christian friends in responding to all those who write to us! The website gets a lot of traffic, and the blog gets its fair share, but not nearly the amount the website does.

The main thing we’re asking for is prayer! Please, pray for the Mormons who write in won’t you? More times than not, there’s a lot of anger going on in their hearts and as you’ll see in what we’ve included here, today’s no different.

Also pray for us here at LAM!  We’re becoming pretty busy with the comments, articles, e-mails and phone calls so we could use prayer. I’ll always be convinced the Lord hears us when we pray and provides!

Thanks so much my faithful friends!

PS: I have not changed any of the spelling or grammar in the notes.

The Differences Between FLDS vs. LDS

Life After Ministries Website

Michelle Grim, your article is incorrect. The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints has nothing to do with the FLDS Church. The only affiliation is that the people in the FLDS Church used to be members of The LDS Church (Mormon church). But they were excommunicated by the Mormon church for not stopping the practice of polygamy. Once plural marriages were made illegal is when the LDS Church quit practicing polygamy cuz it was unlawful. The LDS Church members do not practice polygamy. We are totally against it since it became a law. Even Joseph Smith & Brigham Young and any other LDS Church members would be worthy to enter the temple because they would have stopped practicing polygamy and obeyed the law.

Dear Shar –

We wanted to thank you for writing in at Life After Ministries and let you know we’re praying for you! In answer to your comment about the polygamy issues, I believe if you go back and read the article in context you’ll find that I made it very clear the mainstream LDS Church is not practicing polygamy as of today (July 24, 2016).

I also made it pretty clear they publicly denounce the FLDS Church, however, the truth remains the FLDS Church is indeed a breakaway of mainstream Mormonism.

A simple reading of a Wikipedia article will even give you that info.

FYI, once plural marriages were made illegal by the government in 1890, the mainstream Church continued to practice plural marriage all the way up until April 1904. You’ll find the Church’s 1st Manifesto published at the end of the Doctrine and Covenants with the date 1890, but that isn’t the reality of what we read in history books.

In the Church’s set of Essays they’ve been publishing for 1.5 yrs now, you can read how they finally stopped polygamy in 1904. However, even then they only told part of the story. They claim in their essay, ‘The Manifesto and the End of Plural Marriage’, only a few marriages were performed. This is another lie. More than 2,000 marriages were performed, and I know this for fact because my grandparents took part in it.

I personally have a hard time believing Joseph Smith wouldn’t have practiced polygamy given the fact he lied about doing this when it was illegal in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois. The fifteen times he publicly denied it are well documented. At the time of each denial he was actively practicing polygamy. See Mormon Polygamy Denials for a list of the times he and others in the Church, publicly lied about this.

A few minutes later Shar commented again with the following message –

From: Shar

And members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) ARE Christians. We study The King James version of The Bible, The Old and New Testiment, The Book Of Mormon (which are journals of prophets and bears record of when Christ came to the Americas),The Doctrine Covenants, The Pearl Of Great Price, those are our main books of study and available to anyone. You can visit http://www.lds.org to learn more about our church or attend for yourself or request the missionaries to meet you to answer all your questions and tell you the truths of our history, what we believe etc. instead of speculation and gossip from people who really dont know. I promise you will love the feeling of going to the LDS Church.

Shar –

Sadly, your church has tricked you into believing the statement they study the Bible. The LDS Church rejects the Bible and their 2nd Article of Faith even admits this. We’ve listed a number of LDS references from General Authorities who’ve discredited the Bible and taught members the Bible cannot be trusted. See The Bible and the Mormons.

Oh, how my heart hurts for you Shar. I’m not sure how old you are, but I pray you’ll research the speeches of LDS General Authorities who have categorically taught doctrines denouncing the Bible.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of the fact that more than 5,200 changes have been made to the Book of Mormon. This is a huge contradiction to what Joseph Smith said when he claimed it was the most correct book on the face of the earth. SeeHistory of the Church 4:461 &  Book of Mormon Introduction.

The info about 5,200 changes actually comes from a linguistics professor at BYU. You can read about his findings at ‘The 5,200+ Changes to the Book of Mormon’. Additionally, there is also damaging evidence against Joseph Smith and the Book of Abraham. Scholars from the Church now admit there are serious problems in Joseph Smith’s translation of the Egyptian papyri. See LDS Essay Translation on Book of Abraham and Church Explains Why Gospel Topic Essays aren’t Publicized for more info.

Lastly Shar, the Bible tells us not to trust our own feelings so going to a church looking for a goose-bump moment isn’t a good idea. Besides, I already did that for 30 yrs with the Mormon Church. Trusting feelings is never a good idea, and why Jesus told us to search scripture! John 5:39. Also see Jeremiah 17:9 telling us the heart is desperately wicked and Proverbs 20:17 warns ‘Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel’.

As mentioned before, we’re praying for you Shar and hope to hear back from you soon.

Michelle

LDS Leaders Who Admit Mormonism Isn’t True

Life After Ministries Website

To show such dedication to attemt to divert our church is kind of flattering… You must be afraid of something… afraid that we are right perhaps? I just want to let you know that there is always the process of repentants. Your sins will be forgiven so there is nothing to fear. Thank-you!

Ryan –

We wanted to thank you for writing in at Life After Ministries and let you know we’re praying for you!

I can honestly say I’m not afraid of anything about Mormonism. Sad for the Mormon people, yes, but afraid? Not at all.

Originally I was a 6th generation Mormon from Utah and in the Church for 30 yrs. After investigating it with the only two books I owned about the Church (my Bible and the Book of Mormon), I discovered they contradicted each other so much that I couldn’t in good faith keep pretending the Church was okay.

I can assure you I repented Ryan. I got on my knees and asked Jesus to forgive me for believing in the false Christ the Mormon Church clings to. Afterwards I accepted the Jesus of the Bible into my heart. The only thing I regret is that it took me so long to leave Mormonism.

I pray you’ll seriously study Mormonism for yourself Ryan and compare the two books side by side and find truth for yourself.

Hope to hear from you again and in all sincerity, know we care for you and other Mormons as well.

LDS Leaders Who Admit Mormonism Isn’t True

Life After Ministry Blog

Manuel Vasquez

book of Mormon is true…people are parasites who twisted every word coming out their mouth.

Know that we’re praying for you Manuel and that you allow the true Jesus to heal the anger in your heart.

Manuel Vasquez

show me your degree and you are welcome no matter how you feel about normal standars of life
yey your potencial is how much money you have to show hahahahahah … you can never enter plus you don’t have the holyghost anymore.

Manuel –

As mentioned earlier, we’re praying for you. You obviously have some anger built up, and know how tough that can be when Jesus isn’t in control.

As an FYI, having a saving faith in the Jesus of the Bible doesn’t require a degree. It only requires a true love for Jesus and the willingness to turn your life over to Him.

I seriously can relate to the anger issue Manuel. I was mad all the time before I accepted Jesus into my heart. I ridiculed and belittled people, and never cared about anyone, or anything. When Jesus came along, all that changed in the blink of an eye. True story.

If you allow the Lord to show you who He is, He’ll come to you, and be part of your life – John 14:23. You owe it to yourself to compare the Bible and the Book of Mormon and know the truth.

The last one for today came in from Jenna who commented on the following article –

Polygamy in Centennial Park

Life After Ministries Website

Thank you for your article; It did my heart good to read it! I am a Christian, and today “discovered” the show you mentioned… As I watched these poor misled people all I could do was shake my head and pray pray pray. I hate seeing adults mislead young people. But reading your testimony and being reminded of who our God really is by reading His word and by the evidence around us, I am reassured knowing He is STILL in control!
Thank you again for this article.

Dear Jenna –

Hello and thanks for writing to us at Life After! Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m always humbled and encouraged when I read notes from Christians who’ve been able to use the websites!

It’ll never cease to amaze me how our Lord works. I’m inspired whenever I hear another Christian speak of their life with Him, or just the mere fact there are other believers.

It’s proof to me that Jesus keeps His promises as in Matthew 16:18. Every time I hear or see a Christian I’m witnessing His miracle so thank you Miss Jenna for blessing my day with your kind note! Hope to hear from you again sister in Christ!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
