Matthew 15:9 “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

Today we’re looking at a core doctrine of Mormonism. Historically speaking, the LDS Church has always been long on the ‘I don’t know’ excuses, and short on truth. Melissa’s post the other day is a classic example of how it works.

To be sure, that missionary interview brought me to my knees. I saw the faces of two young men who’ve been grossly misled in the blasphemous doctrines of Mormonism, and listened to well rehearsed lies denying any knowledge on a number of topics they were asked. One question they dodged is our topic of the day. Near the end of the interview they were asked about a heavenly mother, and having their own planet someday.

Our reference comes from BYU professor, Robert Woodford, whom the Church has described as an ‘expert on Joseph Smith’. Now while those kids were probably born the same year Mr. Woodford wrote the Ensign article, by the time they had become missionaries they’d been through 4 yrs of LDS Seminary, and a lifetime of Sunday school classes. They’d know the Church teaches the goal of every Mormon is to achieve godhood status, and have kids for eternity.

One of Mr. Woodford’s quotes came from a manual used by the Church in Seminary, and Sunday School; Doctrines of the Gospel Student Manual.

“It is the blessed privilege of resurrected beings who attain an exaltation in the celestial kingdom to enjoy the glory of endless increase, to become the parents of generations of spirit-offspring, and to direct their development through probationary stages analogous to those through which they themselves have passed…“Eternal are the purposes of God; never-ending progression is provided for His children, worlds without end” (James E. Talmage, “The Eternity of Sex,” Young Woman’s Journal, Oct. 1914, 604).”

In turn, as you can see, the manual quoted part of an article written by LDS Apostle James Talmage. His article, The Eternity of Sex’, is a clear example of where the Mormon mindset is fixated. The tragedy in this is how young Mormons haven’t had enough life experience to figure this out, The Church is leading all of them down a very dark, and lonely road to nowhere but hell. Think about this: Talmage wrote that article for the young women of Mormonism. Can you imagine your pastor doing such a thing???

You can be assured whenever they quote a past leader, the rabbit trail to find the original source will ensue. Besides all that, what kind of church writes books and articles like this one? Why aren’t they praising Jesus for all He’s done, or teaching about His attributes?

The future of those two kids looks dismal, but Jesus already knows this beloved, and served as the scapegoat. Thankfully we don’t have to wallow in the muck and mire with others who refuse our Lord! There’s much to hope for when we turn to Him, and reject the falsehoods of blasphemous doctrines we’ve seen in Mormonism today!

Pray for those kids to start thinking about the common sense end of this disastrous LDS theology! And remember — His word says this isn’t about flesh and blood, but the powers and principalities of the air – Eph. 6:11-12. Jesus already fought, and won the battle for us! PTL!
