LDS: God is the Happiest of Men

04 June

Journal of Discourses 4:222 “God is the happiest of men. I am perfectly satisfied that my Father and my God is a cheerful, pleasant, lively, and good-natured being. He is a jovial person and a beautiful man.” — Heber C. Kimball, Great Salt Lake City, February 8, 1857

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

There are numerous places in the Bible declaring God is not a man. In addition to the verse above, here are four others as well —

1 Samuel 15:29 “And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.”

Hosea 11:9 “I  will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.”

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

It’s no wonder they only believe the Bible ‘as far as it is translated correctly’. (Articles of Faith 1:8) If they were truly honest like they say they are in their 13th Article of Faith, they’d toss the entire Bible, and not reference it at all.

When you have the opportunity, be sure to share this truth with a Mormon you know!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
