LDS Church Published Christmas Message They don’t Believe

09 December

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a 2017 Christmas message:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ this Christmas season, our hope is that the light and testimony of the Savior’s divine mission as the Redeemer of all mankind will come into our hearts and be reflected in our thoughts, our words, and our actions.

May each of us be blessed at this joyous season of the year as we acknowledge with sincere gratitude the Father’s incomparable gift to us of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Master.

Isaiah 9:6; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

One of a Christian’s favorite Bible verses comes from Isaiah’s prophetic declaration of hope he gave to the Israelites at one of the darkest times in humanity.

At the time Israel was besieged by the tyrannical Assyrians, there was little to nothing to look forward to, or hope for. Their main concern was wondering if they’d live to see tomorrow. While things for us on this side of the cross aren’t quite as bleak, there are days when we’re besieged by our concerns of today.

Finding comfort in Isaiah’s prophecy comes from looking at God’s sovereignty seen in the promises He always kept. This prophecy is but one of at least 333 He fulfilled we can read about in His word.

700 years before the baby was laid in the manger, Isaiah declared this child would be the answer to Israel’s woes.

The promise of a valiant Son (child) would be presented at the temple of God where Simon the Priest & Anna the prophetess, knew they had laid eyes on the salvation of the Lord. The kingdom (government) of God would be upon Him alone because He was the only Son (ben) of God.

He was called Wonderful because He was indeed a miracle as the Hebrew name translates, and a Counsellor because He gave, and continues to give, each believer wise counsel on how to live a godly life.

The baby Jesus is a Mighty (Warrior) God, The Everlasting (perpetual) Father, in a very literal sense. And for the sake of us all, THE (meaning singular) Prince (Lord) of Peace (shalom, wholly, friend, well being, & in perfect favor with).

Don’t fear of drinking in the goodness He provides through this, and even basking in its comfort as we know He’s fulfilled each aspect of it! After you’ve done this, consider the following sobering info –

Each transliteration we’ve seen here today has been systematically rejected by my people – the Mormons. Words truly can’t describe the grief this causes in my heart.

Sadder still, is the abject moral depravity they’ve displayed by proclaiming they stand by the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6 when in fact, there’s not one word of it they ascribe themselves to. May the Lord have mercy on them.

Overriding their lack of integrity, and most importantly, is the truth that still stands regardless of what other people do, or say!

Thank You Father God for reminder of the redemption You’ve given to us through Your Son, Christ Jesus the Lord of All!

Ask your Mormon friend if they’ve read their leaders’ statement, and what their thoughts are about Isaiah 9:6! Give them a great Christmas gift by providing the transliteration of each Hebrew word you can find in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

It is very sobering that you find yourself capable of being judge and jury; you make a blunt and inaccurate statement by saying that the LDS church rejects the beliefs they preach. Those are beliefs that they teach, preach, and upon which they expound. You state that they do not believe what they teach, yet present no proof to that end. On the other hand, I hear and read proof to the contrary on almost a daily basis. It is astounding how much information is available to us these days. When combined with the words of the prophets, apostles and leaders of the church, the doctrines of the Church are known.

In spite of your apparent abject denunciation of anything Mormon, the work will continue. The Gospel will continue to be taught, and the Spirit of God will continue to testify of the Son of God. It will succeed without me, without you, and in spite of the evils of the world.

Well, George, as Christians we are called to be discerning and to judge righteously, and this is what we’re doing in this article.

Let me just ask you this, the article called Jesus the Redeemer, do you really believe he is your Redeemer? If so, what did he redeem you from, and how did he do it?
They’re correct, the real biblical Jesus is our Redeemer. He came to save us from our sins, and take the penalty we would have paid for our disobedience to Gods law. Jesus shed his blood on the cross so that if we would repent and put our faith and trust in him we would spend eternity in heaven with him.

Mormonism tells you this isn’t quite all you need, thus making Jesus not really all you need to receive everlasting life. Mormonism would have its people look to the temple as a way of redemption, and salvation, not the cross. Yes, you’re taught that you’re saved by grace, but this, of course, is after you’ve done all you can do. Meaning doing all you can to receive your temple recommend, receive your ordinances and then remain worthy to attend the temple for the rest of your life.

So is Jesus really the Redeemer of Mormonism? Do your leaders really believe that? I don’t think so if they did they’d be pointed you to the cross and not the temple. – Melissa Grimes
