Ladder of Godhood

02 August

The Gospel through the Ages, p. 115“When you climb up a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step, until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the Gospel—you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation. But it will be a great while after you have passed through the veil before you will have learned them.” — Milton R. Hunter, 1945

Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

So our questions for today are…

Did Jesus lie?

How long will it take someone to gain true salvation in Mormonism if they obeyed here on earth?

What’s the definition for ‘a great while’?

What happens to those who believed in say, oh, polygamy for instance?

What about those who believed in racist Mormon doctrines that have since changed?

What about any changes in temple ordinances? Will someone be penalized for not knowing the latest updated version?

When you have the opportunity, do share your favorite passage of salvation with the Mormon you know! Eph. 2:8-9, Rom 10:9-10, Acts 4:12, John 14:6, John 14:23, Isaiah 43:10-11….my list is very long!

Oh, the tangled web we weave…

Although Mr. Hunter’s work was published back in 1945, portions of this is still utilized in their classes today (2019).

Pray for those who surely have questions and/or doubts about this god they worship.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
