IS NAACP IGNORING RACISM TO WORK WITH LDS?

25 July

Acts 17:26 “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth…”

Today we’re looking at two events I pray will collide and in doing so, change what we know as Mormonism. Let me explain…

Last week the LDS Church announced they’re making plans to work with the NAACP . You could’ve knocked me over with a feather when I read that one! They have big plans to help achieve education and job goals as they work alongside their new found friends. For more info, see LDS Church and NAACP announce plans for education and employment initiatives.

The second event was also launched last week, this time by my good friends, Lee and Kathy Baker. They’ve set up a campaign for people to sign their petition, Remove the Racist Statements from the Book of Mormon.

I encourage EVERYONE to click on the link above. It’ll take you to their Facebook petition page where you can sign the petition publicly telling the Church to remove all racist comments from their foundational work.

I pray members of the NAACP will see this petition, and understand why Mormonism is NOT what it purports to be. The acronym of their organization tells us they’re ignoring their mission if they’re working with the LDS Church. How can they  advance their agenda, working with a group who’s inherently racist?

It’s doubtful they’d encourage any black person to subject themselves to the ugly racist doctrines found in the Church’s own canon.

“And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them. 22 And thus saith the Lord God: I will cause that they shall be loathsome unto thy people, save they shall repent of their iniquities. 23 And cursed shall be the seed of him that mixeth with their seed; for they shall be cursed even with the same cursing. And the Lord spake it, and it was done.” 2 Nephi 5:21-23

You can find no less than 24 racist comments in the Book of Mormon, and six more in the Pearl of Great Price. One dominating repeated theme in their canon is the admonition if you mix races, you bring the curse of death. This is not a true biblical representation of how God operates!

Please pray for those involved on both sides of this issue, and do what you can to help spread the word!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
