‘Integrity’, aka Lies, of Mormon Prophets

21 August

 “Chapter 7: Integrity,” Teachings of Presidents of the Church: John Taylor (2011), 58–65 “The following is a portion of that tribute describing the stalwart character and integrity of this beloved prophet:

“Few men have ever lived who have manifested such integrity and such unflinching moral and physical courage as our beloved President who has just gone from us. He never knew the feeling of fear connected with the work of God. But in the face of angry mobs, and at other times when in imminent danger of personal violence from those who threatened his life, and upon occasions when the people were menaced with public peril, he never [flinched]—his knees never trembled, his hand never shook.”

1 Corinthians 15:33; “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

Over the next few weeks we’re going to occasionally look at some of the LDS Teaching Manuals focusing on their presidents. We’re including our look at the Teachings of Brigham Young we posted on a year ago – Hide and Don’t Seek.

Today we’re obviously checking out John Taylor. We’ve highlighted his not so stalwart life in our series, Polygamy and Mormon Church Leaders. Bottom line, Taylor was married to 16 women, the father of 35 kids, and died in Kaysville, Utah while hiding from the feds. Also see Utah History to Go.

We’re wondering why they’d want to exemplify someone like this when they have Jesus as an example?

Ask the Mormon you know for their opinion! It’s disheartening to see how much time they spend on things like this when they could be learning about our dear sweet Jesus.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
