Heber C. Kimball’s False Gods

03 October

H. C. Kimball, Appendix A, Memorandum Book, On the Potter’s Wheel: The Diaries of Heber C. Kimball; “The Lord told me that Adam was my father and that he was the God and father of all of the inhabitants of this Earth.” – Heber C. Kimball, April 30, 1862, Stanley B. Kimball, editor

Genesis 5:1; “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him.”

Theories about creation have come and gone with the fads of the day, and yet only one remains the same; God’s word.

Heber Chase Kimball, one of Mormonism’s early converts, took to the Church so well his rise to the office of apostle took almost no time at all. His comment about God’s creation is just one in the many outrageous quotes we’ve highlighted over the years.

Many people at the time accused him of being crazy, and I suppose that’s a good way of looking at it. I believe he turned himself over to Satan about the time he allowed Smith to marry his 14 yr old daughter, Helen. Why anyone would allow such a thing is beyond me…

Based on his statement, Kimball was obviously an avid supporter of Brigham’s Adam-God theory which the Church denounced several decades ago.

Because of this we’re wondering…

If the Church denounced Brigham’s theory, wouldn’t they have to denounce Kimball’s as well?

How many inspired leaders of Mormonism need to be denounced by today’s leaders before members take notice?

Helen Mar Kimball (the 14 yr old daughter) was, and still is, a well respected early member of the Church. Her diaries are used by members today. They tell a sordid story of the Mormon god wanting Heber to hand over his young daughter to Smith in marriage.

If her father gave her, and his wife over to Smith for the sake of obtaining salvation for the family, just how much stock should members put into any of Heber’s teachings? His great-great grandson, LDS apostle Quentin L. Cook, is totally silent about his grandfather’s teachings, and his 44 wives. See Life of Heber C. Kimball, pp. 331-339 for more info.

Why?

Why is Quentin Cook silent, and more importantly, would he hand his daughter over to Smith today, and would he call out his grandfather on such blasphemy about Adam?

The whole scenario is reminiscent of when Ammonite worshipers of the false idol god Moloch laid their children on the altar of sacrifice. Loud music was played to drown out screams of babies and parents as children/babies were placed on the extended arms of the god they had heated with fire. God promised He would wipe Jerusalem off the map like someone wipes a plate and turns it over. 2 Kings 21:23

We’re praying the Mormon people will turn to Him, and forsake the gods they’ve embraced through doctrines of Joe Smith, and Brigham Young!
