‘It’s Hard to Know’ if You’ve Qualified for Salvation

19 March

Deuteronomy 28:66; “And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life”.

General Conference, ‘This Day,’ April 2007; “It is hard to know when we have done enough for the Atonement to change our natures and so qualify us for eternal life. And we don’t know how many days we will have to give the service necessary for that mighty change to come. But we know that we will have days enough if only we don’t waste them.” – Henry B. Eyring

1 John 5:12-13; “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God”. [emp. mine]

Here’s another example of how the Church wants to lead you away from God, not to Him. It’s also another example of how they’ve contradicted what God specifically promised us! We can know with full assurance we’re saved when we believe, and follow Christ Jesus.

Dear friends, please know what this man has said is a warning to you from our God. The Lord said it was a curse not to have assurance of your life.

It may be hard for Mr. Eyring to know if he’s saved (and rightly so!), but not so for the Christian. His comment proves that God’s word is true, and He does keep His promises!
