Glenn Beck Speaks at American Gospel Celebration

02 September

Jude 1:3-4 “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

American Gospel CelebrationThe other day we received a lovely email from Sadie, she writes –

“I read the article by Melissa Grimes on Glenn Beck and him speaking at Christian Churches and events.  I was happy to see a Christian stand up for the truth and state why Mormons are not Christian.  They do not believe in the bible, but do use verses to benefit there false religion.

I hope another article can be printed or news released even broader of the recent invite for Glenn Beck to speak at another Christian event.

Pastor John Hagee plans for Beck to speak at the “American Gospel Celebration” Sept. 3rd.  I personally emailed and called John Hagee ministires, and also called and emailed the promoters of the event “Premier Festivals”.  I wrote stating my disbelief and shock that a “Christian Pastor” would not stand up for truth and allow a false cult, think they are Christians, and allow Glenn Beck to speak.

Please continue to advertise and call out the Christian churches to protect the truth, with gentleness and kindness.

Sincerely,

Sadie”

I applaud her initiative in going straight to Pastor Hagee, and expressing her concerns about inviting Glenn Beck to this event. Before I received this email I honestly didn’t know anything about this pastor. His name didn’t bring to mind any knowledge of his ministry, or whether he was biblical or not. So I did some digging and here’s what I learned.

On his website, jhm.org everything seems okay, but when I dug a little deeper I found a video on YouTube of him promoting his book, “In Defense of Israel”. In the video promotion he states that in his book he provides proof “Jesus did not come to earth to be the Messiah”.

Is that troubling to anyone besides me? Jesus said He was the Messiah in John 4:25-26 – “The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.  Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”

If he truly feels that way, then it’s no wonder he’s happy to have Glenn Beck speak at this event. Mormons also have a skewed view of who Jesus was and is. To a Mormon Jesus is their elder “spirit” brother, he was first spirit to be created by their god and his goddess wife, and he atoned for sin in the Garden of Gethsemane, not on the cross.

When I hear of pastors partnering with Glenn Beck I have to ask myself, have they never read 2 Corinthians 6:14? “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

This is why I’ve become very apprehensive when it comes to things like bible studies by certain “Christian” leaders and teachers, music by so called “Christian” artists, and so on. No one really seems to want to question things, or stand firm on God’s word anymore. For the sake of political correctness, or whatever you want to call it, people are afraid to stand up and say “that’s not biblical”, or that this individual is a false teacher or is outside of Christian orthodoxy.

As time goes on, we as Christians, are going to have to be more and more vigilant of the things around us, and not be afraid or ashamed to stand up and speak the truth. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are, as 1 Peter 2:9 states “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;”

I pray all of us have the God given courage and strength to stand and speak out when the opportunity presents itself.

In Christ,

Melissa Grimes
