Garments are Protection against Temptation – Mormon Quotes

Letter of the First Presidency, 10 October 1988; “The promise of protection and blessings is conditioned upon worthiness and faithfulless in keeping the covenant. Members of the Church wear the garments as a reminder of the sacred covenants they have made with the Lord and also as a protection against temptation and evil. How it is worn is an outward expression of an inward commitment to follow the Savior.

2 Corinthians 3:5-6Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

I’ve always said the Mormon god is an impotent god that can’t keep promises.  In this teaching given just over two decades ago the “prophet” is telling the Mormon people their blessings are up to them based on their behavior.

If I parented my daughters this way their life would be a living hell.  Honestly people.
