Fulfilled Prophecies of Jesus’ Last 24 Hours

26 March

Wooden Christian CrossMy discovery of the real Jesus afforded me the opportunity to instill new traditions in my life while discarding the bad ones. I have to say though, the biggest discovery outside of knowing the real Jesus of the Bible was learning about Holy Week. Thirty years in Mormonism hadn’t revealed any significant details leading up to Resurrection Day, thus my fascination twenty-two years later. I was saved on Palm Sunday 1993.

Knowing about Holy Week brought yet another discovery! All the prophecies in the Bible about our dear sweet Lord, Christ Jesus. Through this post we’re praying Mormons will learn more about Him and how this one event in history was prophesied about for nearly 1,000 years beforehand.

A few days ago someone commented on the blog that they were surprised to learn Mormons might not even hold church services on Easter Day if their General Conference happens to fall on the same weekend.

Instead of going to church on Easter Sunday, Mormons are directed to either attend conference, watch the event via satellite if available, or stay home to watch it on television. As surprising as that may sound to a non-Mormon, finding out what Good Friday means was equally as surprising for me and many others.

We’ve listed several prophecies from OT times and the NT references showing how each one was fulfilled within the 24 hours before Jesus’ death. There are numerous websites out there with lists of 29-33 prophecies Jesus fulfilled on the cross that all serve to show how He’s the only One that could fulfill the role of Savior. I highly recommend doing a search and sharing the info with your Mormon friends and loved ones which will give them a comprehensive understanding of who He is.

The list I’ve compiled below shows the prophecies He fulfilled, using more than one NT reference. What I’ve discovered is how you could spend countless hours on just this one subject matter alone. He’s an amazing God and our prayer is that Mormons will come to know Him through what He’s revealed to us in His word.

If you’re LDS we want you to know that we pray for you every single day. We don’t publish things on this site to embarrass, bash, or humiliate any Mormon. We post them to educate and inform. Many of us here at the ministry were once Mormons and have walked in the shoes you’re in today.

Our prayer is that you’ll come to a saving knowledge of the Jesus in the Bible and learn about all the incredibly awesome things He’s done and will continue to do for you when you accept Him into your life!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle

Michelle quite frankly I find it surprising that you somehow think that the list of scriptures you have here are ones that your average Mormon are completely unaware of seeing as how these are scriptures I learned about in seminary which was about the same time you claim you were saved. Now how is it that a teenager of all people was aware of all these mind blowing Scriptures of yours that you seem to think Mormons aren’t aware of?

Reading some of the things you’ve written on your website leads me to believe that you really didn’t know the religion you claimed as your own as well as you thought before you chose to leave it behind. Of course you would probably claim that’s not the case but it obviously is to somebody who actually knows the Bible and who has taking the time to get to know it and the book of Mormon.

What is a layperson/non-Bible scholar to do??

Here is our dilemma: Every Christian Old Testament Bible scholar, apologist, pastor, and priest on the planet says that the Old Testament prophesies the birth and death of Jesus of Nazareth as the Jewish Messiah (ben David). However, every (non-messianic) Jewish “Old Testament” scholar and rabbi adamantly states that there is not one single prophecy in the Hebrew Bible about Jesus.

So who are we poor ignorant saps to believe?

In lieu of spending the next 10 years becoming a fluent Hebrew-speaking Old Testament scholar yourself, I would suggest using some good ol’ common sense. Who is more likely to be correct:

1.) Jewish sages and rabbis who have spent their entire lives immersed in Jewish culture, the Jewish Faith, the Hebrew language, and the Hebrew Bible—for the last 2,000 years…or… 2.) seminary graduates from Christian Bible colleges in Dallas, Texas and Lynchburg, Virginia?

Sorry, Christian scholars, but using good ol’ common sense, I have to go with the Jewish scholars. And Jewish scholars say that Christian translators deliberately mistranslated and distorted the Hebrew Bible to say things in the Christian Bible that is never said in the original Hebrew—for the purpose of inventing prophesies into which they could “shoehorn” Jesus!

I recommend that every Christian read the bombshell book, “Twenty-Six Reasons Why Jews Don’t Believe in Jesus” by orthodox Jewish author, Asher Norman. You will be blown away by the evidence that this Jewish author presents that confirms why Jews have said the following for the last two thousand years: “Jesus of Nazareth was NOT the Messiah.”
